Chief Executive Officer, Chris Guérette
Chris is the CEO of the Saskatchewan REALTORS® Association, the only professional real estate association in Saskatchewan following an amalgamation of several associations – a tough change towards efficiency at the time, but a move that paved the way for other amalgamations to occur in Canada. She has a wealth of leadership expertise in housing, real estate, and governance. In her previous role as CEO of the Saskatoon & Region Home Builders’ Association, her team won two national leadership awards in back-to-back years. Chris is also Vice-Chair of Saskatchewan Government Insurance, SGI Canada, a Director on the Board of Sanctum Care Group, Saskatchewan’s first hospice for people living with HIV/AIDS, and is a campaign cabinet member for Saskatchewan Polytechnic’s new campus in Saskatoon.
Chris has over 20 years of leadership experience and has a considerable amount of accomplishments over the years. Previously, she was Chief Operating Officer at the Association of Saskatchewan REALTORS®, where she was appointed to governance, ethics, and marketing committees with the Canadian Real Estate Association and the Ontario Real Estate Association.
She was also the first Executive Director of the Stan Cassidy Foundation, helping to raise much-needed funds for Eastern Canada’s only neurological rehabilitation centre. She was also an executive board member of the crown corporation managing the largest government building in New Brunswick with two schools and 30 community groups under its roof. She was a business coach for start-ups and entrepreneurs and has worked in numerous capacities toward supporting education and official languages in Canada. She is a founding board member of the Saskatchewan branch of Equal Voice, a multi-partisan organization dedicated to the involvement of more women in politics and at the board table, and a past board member of the Saskatchewan Construction Safety Association, the Assemblée Communautaire fransaskoise, and past Chair of the Fédération des francophones de Saskatoon, to name a few.
You may have seen her in politics recently. She was a school board trustee for the provincial francophone school board and tried her hand in politics during the last provincial election. She writes regular opinion pieces for the Saskatoon StarPhoenix and the Regina Leader-Post on ensuring our province maximizes its potential by having a healthy housing continuum and maximizing our potential.
