REALTORS Care® Week has been transformed into REALTORS Care® Days, a series of hands-on volunteer events supporting housing and shelter-related charities across Canada. On September 11th, your Association will be supporting Habitat for Humanity ReStores during the first Saskatchewan REALTORS Care® Day!

What is a ReStore? These stores are home improvement stores which sell new and gently used building supplies, kitchens, décor, furniture, lighting and much more for a fraction of retail price. The proceeds of shopping at a ReStores, are reinvested to help low-income families across Saskatchewan, have a safe, decent, and affordable place to call home.

Why Volunteer? Homeownership is not just about having a place to live; it’s about creating a stable foundation for families to thrive and grow. Your Association believes that we can demonstrate REALTORS Care® by volunteering with essential organizations that contribute to safe and affordable housing in our community, like Habitat for Humanity. Let’s commit to addressing the critical need for housing in our communities and empower low-income families to break the cycle of instability.

What’s Involved? Our team will work under the direction of ReStore staff and volunteers to stock shelves, clean donations, build and move furniture, and organize the ReStore.

The Association would like to take this time to announce the 2024 REALTORS Care Grant Recipient is the Swift Current Community Youth Initiative.

Operating since November 2010, the SCCYI is a non-profit organization overseen by a Board of Directors. It offers guidance, understanding, and assistance to youth through the support of service clubs, churches, individuals, grants, and government aid.

The SCCYI provides a welcoming space for youth to spend time after school and on weekends, encouraging them to make positive life choices and become active members of the community. The goal is to support youth holistically, offering opportunities for growth in various aspects of their lives, including physical, emotional, intellectual, spiritual, social, and artistic development.

The SCCYI will use the funds to create an accessible washroom, ensuring it meets all necessary standards and provides a inclusive environment for all visitors.
