Every month we will spotlight an SRA REALTOR® who is going above and beyond. We know many of you are involved in your communities, are doing exceptional work and we want to highlight those achievements.

Robyn Luthi works as a REALTOR® in Melfort with Coldwell Banker Signature

We sat down with Robyn (virtually) to ask her a few questions about her involvement in her community and her career as a REALTOR®.

What made you decide to become a REALTOR®?

I was feeling burnt out from my previous career as a social worker and my husband encouraged me to change careers and go into real estate, which was a great fit with our construction business. I have loved every moment of it.

2.  What do you love most about your job?

I love being able to help people find they property they fall in love with. Whether it be their forever home, cabin, or new space for a business, it’s great to assist them on this Journey.

3.  Tell me about your involvement with the Melfort Multi-K and what it means to the community.

The Melfort Multi-K, which offers a 1 k fun run to ½ marathon, has been an event in Melfort for the past 11 years and I have been on the committee for the past 7 years. It’s an annual event and a race for all ages, and a great opportunity to promote physical fitness. The pandemic did put a damper on things last year, but we got creative and had online goal setting, along with mental health and nutrition tips. The Online resource has turned into a great tool for the community. Along with getting people out and moving, the funds that are raised are given back to local activity groups. Overall, the Melfort Multi-k has been a great way to give back to the community.

I also volunteer with the Northeast SPCA, running the front desk, walking dogs etc. I like to spread myself out in the community with various organizations.

4.  Why is it important for you to be an advocate for physical fitness? What has running done for your life?

I suffered with mental health issues when I was pregnant with my second daughter and running help me through this very difficult time. I have never looked back. Since then, I have run the Boston Marathon twice, the Canadian 10km Championships and will run Chicago Marathon this fall. Physical fitness and mental health tie into each other so much. For me, it has been a form of stress relief, and it’s not just running, any form of physical fitness is great for a person’s wellbeing.

5.  If you were to use one word to describe real estate in Saskatchewan, what would it be?

Insane.
